OFSDS Participated in Adivasi Mela 2025-26: Showcasing Sustainable Livelihoods and Tribal Enterprise

The Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) successfully participated in the state-level Adivasi Mela 2025-26, which was organized from 26th January to 5th February 2026. The flagship event provided an exceptional platform to spotlight community-led forestry products, eco-initiatives, and indigenous micro-enterprises nurtured under the society's umbrella.

The specially curated exhibition-cum-sale counter witnessed active representation and participation from seventeen Territorial Forest Divisions implementing the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project-II (OFSDP-II) and Ama Jangala Yojana (AJY). These institutional networks worked collaboratively to display an assortment of minor forest produce, value-added organic goods, and hand-crafted items directly from forest-fringe clusters.

A total of 12 Self Help Groups (SHGs) consisting of 42 rural women and community members participated directly at the exhibition venue. Proving to be a massive commercial success, the joint counter generated a total sale value of Rs. 25.59 Lakhs directly for the primary participants during the 11-day event. State-level exposures and institutional platforms like these are proving remarkably encouraging for both SHG and Common Interest Group (CIG) members, boosting their confidence, enhancing market visibility, and establishing long-term consumer linkages.
